SUBJECT: 2010 world cup tickets

ORIGINAL MESSAGE POSTED BY mickdundee, 16th May 2009 Dis anyone have success in phase 2 of the world cup ticket draw? I applied on 4th May (and the site was live about 25 minutes before the stated time for ticket applications) and applied for 2 follow england tickets for the 3 group games. I was amazed I did not get any as it was a first come first served basis and the draw goes on till November. Otherwise you can apply only for named games but you don't know who will be playing. Anyone know if there are likely to be returns coming in?

I even ended up with Cat A tickets which are the best.However Me and my Uncle can not longer go. I have contacted FIFA and they do not issue refunds but say that in phase 3 which starts in december I have an option to transfer the application/ tickets over. I am looking for someone who wishes to take these on. I do not want to make any money on these...continued

However, he has been told that he has to present his passport and england fans membership card when collecting the tickets, as well as the credit card with which he has bought the tickets. As his passport and membership card have his photo on, it looks like there is no way he can sel them to me - or that anyone can pass on their tickets to someone else. Is this correct? Amy comments
