
Euro 2012
Euro 2012 was jointly hosted by Poland & Ukraine and took place from 8th June 2012 to 1st July 2012.
There were 4 groups of 4 teams. We had Ukraine, Sweden and France
in our group (group D). Our tournament began on Monday 11th June 2012 against France (Donbass Arena, Donetsk, Ukraine) which ended 1-1. This was followed by Sweden (Olympic Stadium, Kyiv, Ukraine) on Friday 15th June, which we beat 3-2; and finally Ukraine (Donbass Arena, Donetsk, Ukraine) on Tuesday 19th June which we beat 1-0. We topped the table with France in second to qualify to the group round. We were through to the Quarter Finals.
We then played Italy in our Quarter Final on Sunday 24th June 2012 (Olympic Stadium, Kyiv, Ukraine). The score remained at 0-0 after extra time and eventually lost 4-2 on the dreaded penalties. England now begin their World Cup 2014 qualification trail under Roy Hodgson, beginning with Moldova away on Friday 7th September 2012.

How England qualified for Euro 2012!
Euro 2012 qualifying began on Friday 3rd September 2010 against Bulgaria with a 4-0 win at Wembley. The mission was completed and
qualification confirmed on 7th October 2011 with a 2-2 draw against Montenegro.
